This guy is in the process of changing the game, entirely.
Yes, it only has 4 inputs (plus a hi-hat pedal controller input) but, you can use three of them and get 12 inputs. Each eDRUMin module is only $150. So, you get a 12-input v-drum module for $450. And… the dynamics, the configurations, the setups, the magic…. I watched all of this guy’s videos last week and was absolutely blown away.
These work for all pad types: Roland, Yamaha, Alesis, anything and everything. You can get dual-triggering from SINGLE-ZONE PADS, too (yes.)
And, the software is beautiful. Full-color, tweak anything insanely. Hell, you probably spend hours tweaking your Roland TD module, anyway… god knows I’ve spent DAYS of tweaking mine (TD-6, TD-6V, TD-3, TD-8, TD-12, TD-9…)
Yes, there are no sounds inside eDRUMin. Of course! The best and most realistic sounds come from drum sample software, anyway! I’ve been using Toontrack’s Superior Drummer since 2009 (when I first owned Superior 2.0). In December 2018, I upgraded to Superior Drummer 3.0.
As soon as money permits a little more, I’m selling my current Roland TD-9, and upgrading to three of these. Unreal.
Watch the vids…. proof is in the pudding.
