Melodies. Melodies. Melodies. Superb writing.
I need a collaboration like this in my life. Seriously. As much as it inspires me, it crushes my soul that I have nothing this fucking brilliant in my life. I can make instrumentals like this in 5 fucking minutes (and I have a hard drive full of stuff like this). All I need is the singer who can easily write lyrics and melodies like this to any instrumentals I have, and record it with me, and not have a care in the world, while they write/record…. this is what I need. I NEED THIS in my life.
Since 1999, I have wanted to make music like this with a girl and have it actually go somewhere. No fear, no hangups, no baggage. Just great songs. It’s 20 years later. It’s hard for a lot of people to understand just how much stuff like this means to me and my heart. I made a website called “femalevocals.com” from 2003 to 2006, and retired it because it was too difficult to maintain (and too vast, as I was trying, at the time, to keep a website with ALL female vocal artists in the indie/electronic/trip-hop and folk vein… thousands of artists). But I still feel exactly the same about all of this, when I hear a brilliant piece of music and vocals, such as this. Some bands just hit it out of the park…
Would have never heard of this band if it weren’t for Jason Schwartzman’s Coconut Radio on Sirius XMU.
Enjoy this utter perfection, and dig into their other stuff. It’s just as great.
