This is great. He gets DEEP with the Asian guy, right before Herbie Hancock. He gets deep, harmonically, and it’s awesome.

This shit reminds me of why I became a musician in the first place, and taught myself music theory in 2003 (summer to the end of the year). The albums that made me want to learn and teach myself, primarily… The Album Leaf’s One Day I’ll Be On Time (2001), Archive’s Londinium (1996)Tristeza’s Dream Signals In Full Circles (2000), Ben Lee’s Something To Remember Me By (1997), and Azure Ray’s self-titled album (2000).

This video demonstrates the magic of everything. And the jam he does with Herbie at the end… isn’t even technically amazing (no speed… just chord harmony/voice-leading). Genius.

And plus… I mean, Jacob Collier sold his soul to the devil to be as talented and as brilliant as he is. So… there’s that…
