pallbearerBrief summary: Tom Thompson (David Schwimmer) is kind of a loser. He’s in his mid-20s and still lives with his mom in Brooklyn. He can’t seem to find a job, and the love life is pretty much non-existent. One day, he is contacted by a mother whose son recently took his own life.  She finds that Tom Thompson was her son’s best friend all through high school, so she expects him to delivery her son’s eulogy. No matter what Tom can do, he can’t remember this guy at all. To make matters even more interesting, Julie DeMarco (Gwenyth Paltrow), Tom’s longtime school crush, and one of the kindest people he’s ever met, re-enters his life after disappearing on her own life adventure.

Beautiful story, full of carefully-crafted neurotic characters who try to look out for Tom in the best way they know how. Warm, heartfelt, and very awkward at times. Definitely worth at least one viewing. Written by the guys who went on to produce/write for the underrated TV show Felicity.
