Brief summary: Intertwined short stories featuring several lonely women with various problems: a doctor obsessed with a fellow co-worker, a cold-hearted/indifferent bank manager, a single mom whose only male figure in her life is her outspoken, popular son, a lonely detective with an extremely insightful but legally blind sister, and a spiritual lesbian who is doing her best to handle her longtime girlfriend’s inevitable passing. Extremely well-written film and probably has one of the best (and most depressing) monologues of all-time, spoken by Cameron Diaz’s character near the end of the film. The movie’s score is absolutely gorgeous as well. If you don’t deeply feel SOMEthing watching this film, you have no soul. Recommended for everyone, including guys. This movie will wreck you and flex your head in the process. Written and directed by Rodrigo Garcia.
